Knuckle Booms' are available in varied sizes & heights. They can be electric or engine powered, 2WD / 4WD, & therefore allows choice from units designed for 'flat slab' use or where 'rough terrain' features are required. A key feature of 'Knuckle Booms' is what is described as 'Up & Over Reach'. They have the ability to place operators at locations that require vertical height ability & horizontal outreach ability; not easily accessed by a conventional straight Telescopic Boom Lift. The boom / turret rotation of this class can generally rotate 360 degrees continuos or non-continous. Additional features of this class may include 'fly jibs' for additional maneuvering and positioning including rotating cages or work baskets.
